Formula SAE - IC

Established in 2018, the Formula SAE - IC team participates in the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers internal combustion racing series. Students design and manufacture a formula style car throughout the year to race in a competition in May each year. During these competitions, the car faces static, design, and dynamic events, testing the car’s design and performance, leading to the endurance race at the end of the 3 day competition.

UGA Motorsports is dedicated to giving students the experience needed to become the next generation of automotive engineers. Using testing days, mock competitions, and other events, we’re able to test the limits of our car and learn from our results. We’re committed to giving students the experience needed to problem solve and think on their feet. Through this, we’re able to learn from our past while looking ahead to a future wherein students will be able to learn these skills in a career setting.

At UGA Motorsports, we believe competition fuels innovation. That’s why the FSAE - IC team is proud to join forces and compete along-side over 100 schools from diverse backgrounds, locally and globally. From student-led events such as the Barnesville Shootout and Formula South to our official competition in Michigan, we seize every opportunity to learn from our peers and improve our skills. These experiences allow us to witness the results of our hard work in the garage, showcasing our dedication and skill throughout the year leading up to FSAE Michigan .
